Charles Ives and moral values

Ives died in 1954  and is still not known for his emphasis on moral and spiritual values. Pianists play one or two pieces by Ives and never read his writings or his “Essays before a Sonata”.

Ives did not only quote Beethoven ‘S  THEME, THE 4 NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE fIFTH symphony,, BUT HE ASSOCIATED THIS   THEME WITH   EMERSON’S SPIRTUAL MESSAGE OF FAITH, THAT THE DOOR OF THE DIVINE MYSTERIES WILL BE OPENED.

MOST PEOPLE DO NOT THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT THE MEANING OF  MUSIC. BUT IVES DID . CHARLES IVES DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION FOR HIS SPIRITUAL AND HUMANISTIC LEADERSHIP.
